We are seeking a Movement Director to collaborate with the director and creative team on Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Movement Director will help develop a distinct movement language and physical vocabulary for the production. This may include ensemble movement, character-based physicality, gesture, repetition, rhythm, spatial relationships, and other forms of theatrical movement that support the expressionistic world of the play.
Availability
Rehearsal July–September 9, 2027 The specific number and timing of movement rehearsals throughout July–September will be determined collaboratively based on the needs of the production and the Movement Director's availability.
Tech Week: September 4–9, 2027
Full availability during Tech Week (September 4–9) is required.
Experience
preferred by not required:We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:
Dance and/or choreography
Theatrical movement or physical theatre
Developing movement vocabulary for performance
Collaborating with directors and other members of a creative team
Working with actors to explore physicality, gesture, and ensemble movement
Experience with expressionism, experimental theatre, physical theatre, or movement-based performance is welcome but not required.
$400 paid once the show closes on September 19th. -
We are seeking a Props Designer for Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Props Designer will help design, source, and build props, working closely with the director and other designers to support the expressionistic world of the play.
Availability
July–September 9, 2027, throughout rehearsal period for communication and 2-3 production meetings to be determined.

Experience
Ideally, we would love someone that has experience sourcing and building props, but the only requirement is an eagerness to collaborate!

We are seeking an Intimacy Director to collaborate with the director, actors, and creative team on Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Intimacy Director will help the production approach scenes involving intimacy, sexual content, physical contact, and other potentially sensitive material with clarity, care, and a consent-based process. They will work with the director and actors to develop and document appropriate choreography while creating a rehearsal environment where boundaries and consent are clearly communicated and respected.
The Intimacy Director will also help identify moments that may benefit from additional structure, communication, or choreography and will collaborate with the director to ensure that the staging supports the artistic intentions of the production.

Rehearsals: July–September 9, 2027
Tech Week: September 4–9, 2027
We will work collaboratively with the Intimacy Director to determine an appropriate schedule for intimacy-related rehearsals, choreography, check-ins, and other production needs throughout July–September.
Availability during Tech Week (September 4–9) is required.
Experience
We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following:
Intimacy direction or choreography for theatre
Consent-based and trauma-informed rehearsal practices
Choreographing scenes involving intimacy or physical contact
Working collaboratively with directors and actors
Establishing and communicating clear boundaries and consent practices
Creating a supportive and professional rehearsal environment
Formal training or certification in intimacy direction/practice is preferred. Experience working within experimental, expressionistic, or physically demanding theatre is welcome but not required.

We are seeking a Costume Designer to collaborate with the director, actors, and creative team on Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Costume Designer will develop a visual costume approach that supports the production’s artistic vision, period influences, and expressionistic style. They will collaborate closely with the director and creative team to design costumes that help establish character, environment, movement, and the overall visual language of the production.
The Costume Designer will work with the director and actors to develop, source, build, and/or alter costumes as appropriate for the production.
The Costume Designer will collaborate with the production team to ensure that costumes are practical, cohesive, and achievable within the available resources, while supporting the artistic intentions of the production.

We are seeking a Producer to collaborate with the director, creative team, and production team on Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Producer will help support the overall organization, coordination, and execution of the production from pre-production through performances. They will work closely with the director and creative team to establish production priorities, coordinate schedules and communication, and help ensure that the artistic vision of the production is supported by a clear and sustainable production process.
The Producer is responsible for the big-picture organization of the production. Duties include:
Coordinate communication between the creative team, production team, venue, and other collaborators.
Assist the Stage Manager and Director with scheduling, production planning, budgeting and resource management, contracting or administrative needs, and resolving logistical challenges as they arise.

We are seeking a Social Media & Marketing Manager to collaborate with the director, producer, creative team, and production team on Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, an expressionistic play originally written in 1928.
The Social Media & Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall planning and execution of the production’s social media and marketing efforts. Duties include:
Develop a social media and marketing strategy in collaboration with the Producer and Artistic Director.
Create and maintain a social media content calendar leading up to and throughout the production.
Coordinate with the creative team to gather photographs, videos, graphics, behind-the-scenes content, rehearsal content, and other promotional materials.
Write, schedule, and publish social media posts across relevant platforms.
Ensure that all promotional content is accurate, timely, consistent, and aligned with the production’s visual and artistic identity.
Collaborate with the Producer to coordinate marketing timelines, announcements, and promotional campaigns.
Help promote performances, ticket sales, events, and other production-related activities.
Develop audience engagement strategies to build interest in the production and encourage ticket sales and attendance.
